Leslie DeShazor
Leslie DeShazor is a genre-defying violinist, violist, composer, and educator who brings both classical finesse and soulful edge to every stage she steps on. A featured performer with the award-winning Hamilton tour, Leslie’s talent has taken her from the Detroit Jazz Festival to recording sessions with legends like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Fred Hammond.
Named one of Musical America’s “Top 30 Movers & Shakers in the Performing Arts,” she’s shared stages with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Sphinx Symphony, and jazz greats like Roy Hargrove and Regina Carter. Her original project Journey With Me blends jazz, R&B, and classical influences — a reflection of her bold, versatile artistry.
Offstage, Leslie is a dedicated educator, working with the Detroit Symphony’s youth programs, the Sphinx Organization, and her own private studio to inspire the next generation of musicians. Whether headlining a jazz club, playing string arrangements at a wedding, or leading a music workshop, Leslie brings the same passion, professionalism, and presence that make her a standout in any setting.
